Çerkeslerin Anasayfası

Çerkesya Yurtseverleri tarafından Uluslararası Olimpiyat Komitesi Başkanı Jacques Rogge'ye gönderilmek üzere kaleme alınmış açık mektup aşağıda yer almaktadır. Yurtseverlerin çağrısı Tarihi Çerkesya'nın başkenti Soçi'de düzenlenecek olan olimpiyatlar sırasında Çerkesler'in geçmişte ve bugün o bölgede varlığının görmezden gelinmesini engellemek adınadır.

Sizlerde bu onurlu duruşun bir parçası olmak için, bir kaç dakikanızı ayırarak, aşağıda Türkçe ve İngilizce olarak yazılı olan mektubu olympic adresine girerek sağ üst köşedeki mail kutusu ile olimpiyat komitesine gönderebilirsiniz. Ayrıca bu metnin daha fazla kişiye ulaşmasını sağlayarak bizi görmezden gelenlere burada olduğumuzu gösterebilirsiniz.

ULUSLARARASI OLİMPİYAT KOMİTESİ BAŞKANI SAYIN JACQUES ROGGE’YE AÇIK MEKTUP

Sayın Rogge,

"2014 Soçi Kış Olipiyatları" na üç yıldan daha az bir zaman kaldı. Ama ne sizin, ne de Başkanı olduğunuz Uluslararası Olimpiyat Komitesi’nin bu olimpiyatlarla ilgili tavrınızda bir değişiklik olmadı.

Çığlıklarımızı duymadınız!

Size herşeyi yeniden anlatmak istemiyoruz; Gerek Soçi ve Çerkes halkı üzerine; gerekse de Soçi’de Olimpiyat Oyunları düzenlemenin olimpiyat ruhuna ters olduğu konusunda yeterince bilgi sahibi olduğunuzdan eminiz.

Bu nedenle sizlere sadece duygu ve düşüncelerimizi bir kez daha kısaca iletmek istiyoruz:

Soçi, “Tarihi Çerkesya”nın başkenti, bugün tarih sahnesinden silinmek istenen bir halkın onuru ve geleceğidir. O topraklarda hala namusumuz, özgürlüğümüz ve geleceğimiz için Rusya İmparatorluğuna karşı kahramanca savaşmış atalarımızın kemikleri ve ruhları yatmaktadır.

Şimdi bu topraklarda olimpiyat oyunları düzenlemek bir halkın onurunu ve en temel insan haklarını ayaklar altına almak demek olduğu gibi; Olimpiyat ilkelerinizin “olimpiyatların amacı, insanlık onurunu koruyarak toplumsal barışı destekleme perspektifiyle sporu insanoğlunun hizmetine sunmaktır” şeklinde özetlediğiniz ikinci maddesi ile de çelişir.

Rusya, olimpiyatları bahane ederek topraklarımızı ve doğal güzelliklerimizi tahrip etmekle kalmamış; bu toprakların sahibi olduğumuzu ve Çerkesya’daki varlığımızı inkar etmenin, son kalıntıları da yoketmenin ve tarihi gerçekleri çarpıtmanın bir aracı olarak kullanmıştır.

Bizim Çerkesya’da ve onun tarihi başkenti Soçi’deki varlığımızı reddetmek ve “Çerkesler orada hiç yaşamadılar” demek, “Çerkesler orada hiç yaşamayacaklar” demektir. Halbuki biz herkesten önce orada doğduk, herkesten çok o topraklarda yaşadık ve herkesten çok o topraklarda hakkımız var.

Bunların hiçbirine sesiniz çıkmadı ve çığlıklarımıza ne yazık ki kulaklarınızı kapadınız.

Sayın Rogge,

Biz Çerkesler onuruna düşkün bir halkız; tarih boyunca onurumuz için yaşadık, onurumuz için savaştık ve onurumuz için öldük. Şimdi onurumuzun böyle ayaklar altına alınmasını ve sizlerin buna seyirci kalmanızı asla unutmayacak; bu olimpiyatların geleceğimizi yok etmenin bir aracı haline getirilmesini eli kolu bağlı oturarak seyretmeyeceğiz.

Bunu bilmenizi istiyor ve sizleri karşılamaya hazırlanıyoruz!

TO THE PRESIDENT OF INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE

Mr. Rogge,

We have less than three years remaining for the «2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games». But whether you, nor the International Olympic Committee did not change your attitude towards this Olympic Games..

You have not heard our screams!

We don’t want to tell you everything again. We are sure that you have enough information about Sochi and the people of Sochi, namely the Circassians and you know very well that to hold olympic games in Sochi is against the spirit of oliympism.

For this reason, with this brief we only wish to convey our feelings and thoughts once again:

Sochi, «The Capital of Historical Circassia», is the dignity and the future of a people, Circassians, which Russia tries to exterminate for more than 300 years. Still lie there the bones and the souls of our ancestors who fought heroically against Russian Empire for our honor, our freedom and our future.

Organizing oliympic games on such a land means not only to trample the dignity of a people and one of the most fundamental human rights but also contradicts your own principles. Since the second article of “olympism” says, “The goal of Olympism is to place sport at the service of the harmonious development of man,with a view to promoting a peaceful society concerned with the preservation of human dignity”.

Russia, on the pretext of the Olympic Games, has destroyed our land and natural beauties, but also uses it to eliminate the last remains of our ancestors there in order to distort the historical facts and to deny our existence and rights on Circassia and that we are the owner of this land.

However, to deny our rights in Circassia and in its historical capital Sochi and to say “Circassians have never lived hier” means; “Circassians have no right to live hier!”.

But everybody in this planet knows that we were born there before anyone else, we lived there longer than anyone else and we have rights on this land more than anyone else.

Mr. Rogge,

We, Circassians, attach great importance to honor. We lived, we fought and we died for our dignity throughout history. And we will never forget that now on the pretext of olympic games our honor is being trampled once more and you keep your audience.

But you should also know that we are not going to sit and watch how this olympic games destroys our past and our future and prepare an appropriate welcome for you!
